Parking place for permit holders with limited waiting permitted by others at specified times End of area where vehicles may be parked partially on the verge or footway End of area where vehicles may be parked wholly on the verge or footway
Red and Yellow Lines Lines along the side of the road are used to show where restrictions on stopping and waiting apply. Red lines are currently only used in the London, West Midlands and Edinburgh areas, but are likely to appear in other locations in the future. A double red line means no stopping for any purpose at any time.
During the period shown on the signs, parking limits apply. Parking signs are also used to inform motorists of the time of day when parking restrictions are in effect. For example, a parking sign may indicate that the parking limit is from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p. the following morning.
